The Hunter ET System is an easy-to-add-on accessory (for any Hunter controller that operates with a SmartPort® system) that measures key climatic conditions, and uses them to calculate your local Evapotranspiration (ET) factor. ET is the combination of two separate processes whereby water is lost from the soil surface by evaporation and from the plant by transpiration. By taking into account the rate at which water is consumed by weather conditions, the ET System will initiate a new schedule to replenish only the water that is actually needed for your sprinkler system, plants, and soil conditions. And our WiltGard™ technology can intervene to trigger protective watering when extreme conditions threaten your plants. The result is a dramatic savings in your water bill (about 30%, on average), healthier root zones, and your participation in conserving our precious natural resources.
